USPS Holiday Closing Dates are located at the bottom of the 'Payment & Shipping Info' page. Q: How long will it take for my Minimealworms to arrive? A: It will take approximately 2 - 5 days after the ship date for your package to arrive. This depends on where in the country you live and any weather conditions that may affect delivery. Q: How do I make sure that my Minimealworms are shipped the same week I place my order? A: Since we ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only, to ensure same week ship out, please place your order so that we receive it no later than 9:00 AM EST on Monday or 9:00 AM EST on Tuesday. If you want this option, you must notify us when you place your order. WORM CARE: Please visit our 'Worm Care' section located on the 'About' page of our site. Q: How can I sift the Minimealworms out of the bran they are shipped in? A: A small tea strainer can be used. Or you can put in a fresh piece of potato (or any other vegetable) and after a few minutes they will congregate under it and they can be picked up easily that way. Q: Do Minimealworms breed using he same method as standard mealworms? If not, how do you raise them? A: Our Minimealworm's breeding process and care is different. Many years of time, money, and research have gone into their development. For the time being, we are keeping the breeding / colonization process confidential. Q: Can I store them in the fridge? A: No, this will likely kill them. They must be kept at room temperature (75 degrees is the optimum temperature) and kept out of extreme heat or cold. Q: Can I use water gels instead of potato or other vegetables for their moisture source? A: You can use water gels, but use them with caution. They can get a bit messy and could provide conditions for mold growth. WORM PACKAGING: Q: Why is this fabric in my worm cup? A: The thin fabric is for shipping purposes and should be discarded upon arrival. Q: What are Minimealworms packaged in? A: They are shipped to you in wheat bran. Q: Do I need to open the box & unpack them? A: Yes! Do not let them sit in the shipping box. Unpack them right away. Q: Are instructions included? A: Yes, an instruction care card is included with your shipment. Please also view the 'Worm Care' section of our website. Q: Some of my Minimealworms have escaped the cup...?! A: This may happen. Our Minimealworms are very small and a few may escape out of the air holes in the cup. They will be contained within the shipping box and can be retrieved. Orders are substantially over-counted to ensure you receive your full order. Q: Why are there air holes in the cup? A: Minimealworms must have fresh air circulation in order to survive. Q: Are these dead worms in my cup? A: No, these are sheds from the worms. Q: What about recycling? A: The majority of our packing & shipping materials are user recycled or are made from recycled materials. Everything can then be recycled by you, the consumer!
