MINIMEALWORM™ CARE:
~ Please Read Entirely! ~
-
Upon arrival, it is important to remove the thin fabric
inside the cup & discard, as this is for shipping purposes only.
-
Upon arrival, it is very important to feed your Minimealworms a chunk
of potato or other vegetable so they can regain the moisture lost during shipping.
- Make sure your Minimealworms have fresh air circulation! If you keep
them in the cups provided, you must "stagger-stack" the cups making sure that the air holes remain open & clear. Or just
leave the lids off entirely. If keeping in a different container, keep uncovered or make sure the lid you use is well
vented to ensure air circulation.
- Keep them in bran or oats, with a potato chunk or other vegetable for them to feed
on.
- You may "gut-load" as you see fit.
-
For best results, we highly recommend keeping them at room temperature.
-
-
Room Temperature Storage:
- Keep in container of your choice, with the proper air circulation.
- Keep in substrate of your choice, bran or oats.
- Feed chunk(s) of potato or other vegetable every or every other day, or as it disappears. It
is important to feed them as needed so that they will retain moisture.
- They can last a month or more before they begin to morph into beetles.
Please note: When shipped in winter months, the
worms may go slightly dormant during transit. Give them time to warm up to room temperature to regain their
full activity.
These are not common standard mealworms and
are not similar to them in care requirements.
They are HIGHLY ACTIVE, much more so than the
common standard mealworm, therefore they have a higher metabolism and require more moisture and nutrition during storage,
unlike the common standard mealworm.
